This map shows decreasing heritage of White town, Pondicherry. Pondicherry was once known as white town due to its French influence not just in architecture but also in other urban context of the place. With time and modernization the heritage is replenishing. INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) is the non government organisation which is working and restoring the withering heritage of the town. INTACH made this map showing the dying heritage to create awareness among the people. People now have slowly started understanding the importance of it. After the map, INTACH nearly got 100 houses to restore. The government also has recently started helping the institution and promoting adaptive reuse of the property.
