Mapping Airplanes on Mumbai airport- Parth Champaneri and Poojan Shah

Mapping of flight schedule

We mapped the flight data of Mumbai airport to understand the complexity of the air traffic. This data is from 9:00am to 12:00pm on 20th January 2017.

Here, the centre of a circle depicts Mumbai airport and the circle is divided into 18 parts where each part is representing 10 minutes. As shown in the images the smaller circles are showing the arrivals and departures from Mumbai airport. As shown in the legend, solid circles are showing the time of arrivals and circles having white border is showing the time of departures. The closer the circles are from the centre the nearer the flights are from Mumbai.

600kms is showing flights nearer to Ahmedabad, 1400kms showing flights nearer to Delhi. The outer most circle differentiate international flights and domestic flights.

Second image is showing connections between same carriers, to relate which airplane company is frequently used during that particular time and last GIF is showing 3-D representation of all the data.
