Sam miller narrates his journey from New York to Delhi and tells his experience in Delhi. He starts his narrative by telling that how he was curious to know about Delhi and saw a Hindi movie just to see Delhi  .he compares Delhi with other cities and says that it has a sense of decay and regeneration which he not met elsewhere. It’s a new rising urban city and a dream city of most of the people. He explains how he travels in the city and to locate himself he always go around some river or monument. He walks like a flaneurs which helps him to explore the unseen part of the city. To leave no stone unturned of the city he wanted to travel in a pattern. He tried many patterns and finally he decided to travel in a spiral form which keeps him connected with the centre of the city.

This books teaches you how one can inquire about a city and know in and out of it without traveling aimlessly.
