A chronological, Historical and Biographical chart – Pooja Nagaraj

This map was made by Stephen and David Dodd in the year 1807

It is a map of the most memorable events of all the principal nations of the world, from ancient times to as far as they have been recorded in history. Visually it resembles the rising tree, having for its root, the first man from whom all the nations take their rise, branches growing out separately like the sub branches growing out of the parental stock.

Each branch represents the nation whose name is mentioned at the bottom of every branch and the division in nation is shown by corresponding division of the branch. The horizontal lines that are drawn at regular intervals represent time of where the events fall in history. Then nations that are incorporated by another or the one that lost their identity are denoted by a vertical line in front of the names, which marks the end of their existence.
